Further our impact within the community as a result of exposure to and dialogue with our featured speakers; to provide unique opportunities to students and young adults consistent with the mission and focus of The Brilliant Lecture Series, Inc.; and to engage and inspire students and young adults to grow up more aware of and sensitive to the diversity of their own communities and those visited under the International Youth Leadership Program.

1. The INTeRNaTioNaL YouTH LeaDeRSHiP Program

Under this program our first group of BRiLLiaNT students went to Jordan in April on an exchange visit inspired and enabled by Her Majesty Queen Noor. They were the guests of The Jubilee School in Amman, whose students will be coming to Houston in due course.

Our BLoG is shared through our website and provides a forum for middle and high school students to engage with each other, ask questions about each others’ lives, explore each others’ cultures and generally to develop a worldwide connection with their contemporaries.
A Scholars Fund donation will support our INTeRNaTioNaL YouTH LeaDeRSHiP Program and help us continue the work that began with the visit from these students to Amman.
Student Scholarship Fund: A donation of $100 to $249 will help pay transport costs for up to two low-income BRiLLiaNT Students to travel under this program.
Teacher Scholarship Fund: A donation of $250 to $499 will help pay transport costs for up to two teachers to travel with their BRiLLiaNT Students under this program.
All donors to the International Youth Leadership Program Scholars Fund will receive e-news updates and recognition on an honor roll on our website.

2. Through our BRiLL KiDS TaLKS, we present smaller, more intimate events with local speakers drawn from all fields of endeavor (for example, theatre, music, entertainment, fine arts, sports, academia). We held our first BRiLL KiDS TaLKS session with students from Houston Independent School District’s, College Connections with Sir Sidney Poitier. We hosted over 400 students at the Houston Community College’s Galleria campus and they had the unique opportunity of speaking directly with this BRiLLiaNT man. We are planning two more events for this summer.

A $500 to $999 donation to the BRiLL KiDS TaLKS program will help us to provide lunch for 400 students to attend one event.
A $1,000 to $2,499 donation to the BRiLL KiDS TaLKS program will help us to provide transportation and lunch for 400 to 800 students for one event.
A $2,500 to $4,999 donation to the BRiLL KiDS TaLKS program will help us to provide a venue for one event and transportation and lunch for 400 to 800 students to attend that event.

3. BRiLLiaNT WoRKSHoPS

It is planned to launch our BRiLLiaNT WoRKSHoPS during fall 2007/spring 2008.
A $5000 to $7,500 donation to the BRiLL KiDS TaLKS program will help us to launch our WoRKSHoP programming.
