The vast impact of his work has not gone unnoticed - from Kenya to Burma to Senegal to Haiti from the United Nations to First Lady Laura Bush. Tragedy struck in March 2009, while Barton was on a mission in Uganda. Three weeks into the project, a speeding truck broad sided Barton on his motorcycle. He was left for dead.
